Puppy Abandoned In Airport Bathroom With Heartbreaking Letter From Owner

Little Chewy has been rehomed after being abandoned in an airport bathroom by his distressed owner – she was trying to save her precious pooch from a life of hardship.

An adorable puppy has been abandoned in an airport bathroom with a heartbreaking note from his owner. The three-month-old, named Chewy, spent only a short time in the bathroom before being found by another traveller who just came off a flight.

Heart-broken by the note, the traveller took the dog to Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, in Las Vegas, where he could receive the care he needed.

The note read: “Hi. I’m Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn’t afford me to get on the flight. She didn’t want to leave me with all her heart but she has NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were f.i.g.h.ting and he has a BIG knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy so much. Please love and take care of him”

The distressed woman went on to explain how she couldn’t bear to leave her precious chihuahua with her abusive ex-boyfriend – and decided he’d stand a better chance at life being left at the airport. After taking in little Chewy, the founder of Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, Lindia Gilliam, sent out Facebook posts directed to the woman who was forced to give him up.

“My heart was in pain, I didn’t hesitate to immediately admit Chewy to the center and take the little dog for treatment.” Gilliam said

One reads: “Please share in hopes that his mum sees this. She was brave to leave. He will have a great life.”
While another added: “We will absolutely reunite should she come forward and wants him and is in the position to care for him safely. Her safety is a major concern and she may not be able to risk coming forward and Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue asks that you respect her decision as it is hers and hers alone to make.”

But as the woman didn’t make herself known, the rescue centre sent out rehoming applications one month later – and were quickly inundated with responses.
After reading through “hundreds if not thousands” of interest forms, they placed him with a new owner who is able to spoil him with love and attention.

Now, Chewy is recovering very quickly. The identity of Chewy’s owner is still unknown but Ms Gilliam hopes that, after this story is shared, pet owners who have been abused by a lover/husband will find themselves there and find a solution. for life. If they cannot get out of such a relationship, animal shelters are always happy to take care of their pets.

“This is an issue that is often overlooked,” Gilliam said. “We also want to tell Chewy’s owner that she did something very brave. Now this little dog is safe and has a happy life.”
