Heart-Breaking Photos Shows The Elephant Bravely Walking With A Stump

This heart-pounding footage shows a brave elephant walking along with a stump. Patrick Ellis, 60, from South Africa, captured a heart-breaking photos while hunting with his wife, Topaz, and son, Daniel, in Kruger National Park, South Africa.

Photos were taken on June 27, the calf can be seen limping across the street with its herd following in its path.  TLook at the poor baby elephant and ʀᴇsᴇɴᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʀᴜᴇʟ poaching of elephants. It is believed that the elephant was trapped, resulting in the loss of its right hindfoot.

Patrick said: “For us as a family, we have never witnessed such brutal and ᴛʀᴀᴜᴍᴀᴛɪᴄ evidence of poachers in Kruger Park. The camps inside Kruger Park show photos display of animals snared but only when you witness them that the full impact hits you. The w.ou.nd appears to have completely healed, leading to the assumption that this little guy has lived with his amputated leg for several months.”

Elephants are renowned for their close relationships. Young elephants are reared in a matriarchal society, embedded in complex layers of extended family. Culls and illegal poaching have fragmented these patterns of social attachment by eliminating the supportive stratum of the matriarch and older female caretakers (allomothers). Elephants are very close-knit, emotional, and have strong family ties.A growing demand for elephants’ ivory tusks is behind the poachers and sʟᴀᴜɢʜᴛᴇʀ.   Although sales are banned in most countries. The females usually stay in the family for their lifetime, whereas the males go off to an all-male group or an all-male area when they are between the ages of 9 and 11. There, the young males enter a second stage of socialization where they get mentored by the older males until their 30s.
