We are served a lot of stories about dogs and cats, and even about other domestic animals. Rarely do we hear anything good about giraffes, zebras, monkeys, owls, elephants… Here you will be able to read an interesting story about the friendship of two completely different animals. Anyone who has experienced true friendship can call themselves a lucky person, but not only humans make friends! This weird pair, an elephant and a dog, could built a bond worth admiring. These two animals differ in appearance much more than in behavior, for they obviously correspond to each other.

Tarra and Bella were inseparable, despite their huge differences in size and species. Tarra, the 35-year old Asian elephant from the Tennessee sanctuary, and her friend Bella, the dog, played, ate and slept together. The two of them have been sleeping, eating, hanging out for many years, they are together all the time. It was only recently that it became known how strong that friendship really is. Their relationship was of the rarest and most special kind, as they proved their loyalty to each other during the ʜᴀʀᴅ times. Bella was ɪɴᴊᴜʀᴇᴅ, had spinal problems, and was in the house for three weeks because of it. She could neither move nor walk. All this time Tarra was by the fence, looking at the house where Bella was. She didn’t care about the park or the surroundings, she was only interested in Belle’s recovery. When they realized what it was all about, the guards had no choice. They brought Bella to Tarra to see her. It was indescribable happiness on both sides. From then on, they constantly brought Bella to Tarra, until Bella fully recovered so she could go alone.
Unfortunately, Bella ᴘᴀssᴇᴅ away later. These giants are sensitive when it comes to the ʟᴏss of their companions, thus the sanctuary personnel could not do anything to relieve Tarra’s pain. Elephants are unique animals who are capable of ᴍᴏᴜʀɴɪɴɢ and ɢʀɪᴇꜰ. They express sᴀᴅɴᴇss after a ʟᴏss, and they never leave the ᴡᴇᴀᴋ and sɪᴄᴋ behind. Experts explain this is due to the strong connection they are able to build within a herd during their life together. Those two had been friends for nearly a decade and they certainly can teach us loyalty and devotion! It’s a blessing to have friendships like this!
