The chances of spotting an ᴀʟʙɪɴᴏ animal are close to zero, but this only reaffirms the fact that they look like they came straight out of a fairytale. Turtles who were gifted with this feature look totally out of the ordinary, some of them remind us of dragons, while others look like a slice of cheese. For example, one of them is so unique, that it was born with its heart exposed. Its owner Mike, told us a bit more about his love for ᴀʟʙɪɴᴏ turtles.
Indeed, the bright colors of their bodies and carapaces have all the hues of solar yellow to fiery red. How not to see a dragon? They almost give the impression of having been painted. But the work of Mother Nature has no artifice. This is simply the ɪɴᴄʀᴇᴅɪʙʟᴇ panel of ᴀʟʙɪɴᴏ turtle ᴘɪɢᴍᴇɴᴛs. Behind their sɪɴɢᴜʟᴀʀ and colorful physical appearance, the life of ᴀʟʙɪɴᴏ animals is not always rosy. Indeed, they often have health problems such as ᴘᴏᴏʀ ᴇʏᴇsɪɢʜᴛ and therefore ᴅɪꜰꜰɪᴄᴜʟᴛɪᴇs in ꜰɪɴᴅɪɴɢ ꜰᴏᴏᴅ, while becoming easy ᴘʀᴇʏ for ᴘʀᴇᴅᴀᴛᴏʀs they do not easily perceive. Not to mention that ᴀʟʙɪɴᴏs are easily spotted, another reason to be ʜᴜɴᴛᴇᴅ as ideal targets. Mike told us that he has had turtles since childhood, but at the age of 24, he saw his first ᴀʟʙɪɴᴏ turtle. “I immediately fell in love with it because it was something I never imagined could exist. Solid yellow turtles blew my mind.” Turtles are a great alternative for people who can’t have furry animals. Just like dogs and cats, turtles are sweet, love their humans, and even ʙᴇɢ for food like all pets do.
One of them recently made a lot of talk about her. This superstar turtle is called Hope. It was born with a pink belly and a beating heart outside her body. An extremely ʀᴀʀᴇ case. Despite its condition, the young turtle sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴇᴅ thanks to its owner, Aqua Mike, and just celebrated her first birthday. Still, these turtles « dragons » are excellent pets as reported by Aqua Mike, « they are very interactive and will ʙᴇɢ you to feed them, they will pose in front of the camera and everything, but they are not made to be handled. Aqua Mike also recalls that they are happy when left alone, so they keep company but simply behave differently than a dog or a cat.
