I’ve seen a lot of ᴏᴅᴅ friendships since I’ve started writing these post, but this might be the cutest one yet. The Internet has fallen deeply in love with an Oʀᴘʜᴀɴᴇᴅ pony whose best friend is a stuffed teddy bear. To make things even cuter, the bear’s name is Breeze. Apparently, the tiny horse was feeling lonely and needed something to replace the comforting touch of his mom. The stuffed teddy bear he was given turned out to be perfect for the ‘job’!
At just a few hours old, Breeze the baby horse was found wandering the Dartmoor National Park all alone. He seemed to have been ᴀʙᴀɴᴅᴏɴᴇᴅ because his mom was nowhere to be found. The ᴘᴏᴏʀ foal was desperately moving from mare to mare in hopes of finding a teat to suckle. As rescuers from the local equine sanctuary arrived, Breeze actually ᴄᴏʟʟᴀᴘsᴇᴅ from sᴇᴠᴇʀᴇ ᴅᴇʜʏᴅʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ and sʜᴏᴄᴋ. The ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ immediately took him under their care and began to watch him around the clock. Through their hard work and dedication, the ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ managed to sᴀᴠᴇ the foal’s life. However, there was still one problem that they needed to help him with. Breeze was missing the love and affection that only a mother can provide.This lack of affection began to show on his personality. He was not acting like an energetic youngster but rather a mopey ᴅᴇᴘʀᴇssᴇᴅ one. To remedy the situation, the ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ workers decided to put a big teddy bear in his enclosure.
When young animals become Oʀᴘʜᴀɴᴇᴅ, it is often crucial that humans intervene to ensure their sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴀʟ. Without a caretaker, newborn animals are just as ᴠᴜʟɴᴇʀᴀʙʟᴇ as human babies – if not more so because they are often left out in the wild. “It’s been wonderful to see him interacting with his new teddies and cuddling up to them when he goes to sleep.
